2 Spanish sides in CL semis for 5th straight year

The Spanish teams continue to demonstrate the strength of La Liga with their performances in the Champions League.
In each of the last five years, two representatives from the Spanish top flight have made the semi-finals of Europe's premier club competition. Real Madrid and Barcelona reached the last four in 2010-11, 2011-12 and 2012-13, while Atlético replaced Barça last time round and the 'Azulgranas' will be joined by one of the Madrid rivals this year.
There have been two Spanish successes in this period, with Barcelona tasting glory in 2010-11 (having beaten 'Los Blancos' in the semis) and Real doing so last term after overcoming Atlético in dramatic circumstances in Lisbon.
Meanwhile, in 2011-12, neither of the Spanish big boys progressed to the final: Real were knocked out by Bayern, while eventual champions Chelsea accounted for Barça before defeating the Bavarians in their back-yard in the showpiece.
